The pain stops here!

Get your life back with the remarkable new pain relief technologies that are drug free!
Our doctors can help you find the best solution for lasting relief.

Let’s Find the Best Solution For You

Choosing the most effective option for lasting relief starts with identifying exactly what is causing your pain.

Our solutions include drug free therapies like:

Spinal cord Stimulation (SCS)

SCS therapy uses an implanted device to deliver mild electrical impulses that interrupt pain signals your nerves send through your spinal cord. This can help prevent you from perceiving the pain.

Vertiflex™ Procedure

This minimally invasive outpatient procedure uses a small spacer to relieve pain associated with lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS).

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

RFA is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that uses thermal energy to interrupt pain signals at the source.

SCS™ Therapy

Proven drug-free SCS therapy can be personalized to deliver the lasting relief you need — where and when you need it.

Get back to what you love doing most. Whether that means going for long walks, getting back to work, or simply being able to function more naturally around the home, many of our patients have discovered that the Spectra WaveWriter™ dramatically reduces their pain and allows them to resume their favorite activities.

You feel pain when nerves send pain signals through your spinal cord to your brain. SCS is designed to interrupt these signals so you don’t perceive them as pain.

Schedule an appointment today to discuss your options. Dr. Tyson and his team at Northwest Pain Management will assess your unique situation and help you determine if the Spectra WaveWriter™ is right for you.

Significant Long-Term Relief

In a major clinical study, back pain patients reported a nearly 6-point drop in pain score, even after two years.1

Worldwide Success

Tens of thousands of people across the globe look to Boston Scientific SCS therapy for long-term, drug-free, FDA-approved pain relief.

Successful Trials

More than 90% of Boston Scientific SCS trial participants reported a successful experience and opted to get the permanent implant.2

Patient Satisfaction

9 out of 10 Boston Scientific SCS patients said they were satisfied with their therapy and 95% would recommend it to others.2

The Vertiflex™ Procedure

If you suffer from chronic leg and back pain the Vertiflex Procedure might be an effective drug-free solution for lasting relief.

If your pain is primarily leg and back pain, it may be the result of a condition called lumbar spinal stenosis that narrows the spaces in the spine where nerves pass through. This can “pinch” the nerves causing pain.

If you have these symptoms the Vertiflex Procedure might be the best drug free option for you:

5

Pain while walking or standing

5

Weakness in legs

5

Loss of balance

5

Decreased physical endurance

5

Numbness or tingling in the legs, buttocks, or back

5

Aching, dull back pain spreading to legs

5

Tendency to sit or lean over to relieve pain

Proven Results

The minimally invasive Vertiflex Procedure is FDA approved and backed by a long-term clinical study.
Over 20,000 patients have received pain relief from the Vertiflex Procedure since FDA approval.
In the clinical study, most patients on opioids stopped using them after the Vertiflex Procedure. 1
Nine out of ten patients in the clinical study were satisfied with their pain relief and increase in physical activity.2

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA)

RFA is a well-established, drug-free pain management solution that is clinically proven to provide safe, effective relief from pain.

Target the Nerve

X-ray or ultrasound imaging helps guide a special probe to the target nerve. Electrodes simulate nerves near the area to help determine the optimal treatment locations.

Disable the Nerve

The electrodes then send a small radiofrequency current into the surrounding tissue. This heats the tissue an disable the nerve so it stops sending pain signals.

Repeat for Multiple Pain Area

Generally, one to four nerves are targeted in one procedure to maximize pain relief.
How does RFA work?
RFA is a simple, minimally invasive outpatient procedure. Dr. Tyson and his team target pain-causing nerves and use thermal energy to interrupt the pain signals at their source. Local anesthesia and a mild sedative may be used to reduce discomfort during the procedure.

The RFA procedure can target multiple pain areas in a single treatment. So if your pain occurs in several parts of your body, RFA can address them all simultaneously. It works well for pain in your:
